Nurk performs acoustic, foot-stomping, bottom-shaking, alt/art-pop with a twist of glam and burlesque overtones. An audience member in Houston once described his music as "60's psychedelic elements, mixed with 1920's Vaudeville, mixed with 80's dance/club stuff. " A club manager once simply called it "nice...and strange." Nurk is currently based in Austin, Texas.
Currently, Nurk is wrapping up a European Leg of his Internationally Indefinite Tour. He has played shows in New York, Iceland, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland.
His new EP is available at all shows and features the songs "Work In Progress", a driving, bittersweet tune, and the surreal epic "Skinny Legs".
Nurk also sings and writes with the Seas (www.theseas.net), an Austin band that Austin Music Magazine calls "a very refreshing sound in the underground world." In addition to their eponymous EP, the Seas plan to record an album and continue playing dates next year across the U.S.
